The server may not start automatically when the CafeMan server application is ran. Use 'File> Start server' to start the server. Use the same menu to stop the server. Status of the server is shown as either a smal red LED or a small green LED at the right on the status bar.

Starting the server means that clients now can connect to the server & your business clients are able to use there user accounts on the client machines. We call this the system is online.

Stopping the server doesn't mean stopping the service. When you stop the server, none of the existing online clients are affected. Stopping the server simply causes the server to reject any new connection from any client, you can think it something like a pause for the server. Anyway, existing connections are not harmed.
